PLEASE, LOVE ME!

I've been wanting to write this blog for about 2 weeks, but you know, life gets in the way. You know when you hear a song over and over and can even sing along with it every time it plays on the radio...but you've never really HEARD it? I had that moment listening to this song. It struck me to the depths of my soul. It made me cry driving down the road. I had just taken my youngest son to school and ran to get me a drink at the drive-thru down the road. I was singing along as I always do...But then the 3rd verse started to play and I just stopped singing for some reason. I REALLY listened this time. The 3rd verse talks about a murderer awaiting his fate on death row and how that murderer finally finds God and cries out to Him for forgiveness...and for LOVE. It got me thinking, isn't this what EVERYONE in the world is looking for these days? Some are searching for the LOVE they will spend their life with in marriage, LOVE from a parent that has left, LOVE from a child that has started their own life and forgotten their family at home, LOVE from a best friend, LOVE from God...but all searching for LOVE. Real LOVE...agape LOVE...UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! In our minds we think, well who could love a murderer? And maybe most of us in our human hearts can't...but there is ONE who CAN! And DOES! We search our whole lives for some human to love us, yet there is ONE who can give us a LOVE that no human ever can. There is love for the abandoned child, the lonely wife, the man in the nursing home who just wants a visitor, and even the murderer. God, our Father, He will love you for YOU! Not just for the good days when you are being nice and everything is sunshine and roses, but even in all the dark thoughts, the sins, the worldy views of ugliness, the loneliness you may think will never stop...HE LOVES YOU FOR YOU! I wish I had the heart of God to love someone that has murdered...Maybe instead of trying to look at things thru rose colored glass we should try to look at them thru heavenly glasses. Thank you, Lord for loving me...in all my ugly hearted, inconsiderate, selfish, and spoiled brat days. For loving me in those days means even more than loving me when I'm doing everything right. It teaches me what unconditional really means. What LOVE really is...
